NetApp HCI is the first enterprise-scale hyper converged infrastructure that increases business agility by delivering predictable performance and simplified operations on a highly flexible and efficient cloud architecture.

The 1st generation of HCI products were targeted at small deployments or single applications with a shared-node design to simplify deployment. As HCI deployments grow and use cases move further into the enterprise core, the scale and performance limitations of this approach are becoming apparent.

NetApp HCI was specifically designed and architected for the evolution of the HCI market; supporting use cases that reside at the enterprise core. NetApp HCI delivers simplified operations not just deployment, supports the unpredictable performance demands of the enterprise, and deliver multi-tenancy with cloud scale and performance.

We are prepared to lead this change by leveraging our enterprise expertise, cloud provider know-how, and public cloud partnerships to HCI.

NetApp HCI is designed for consolidation of multiple tier 1 workloads while guaranteeing performance to each individual application or VM. Within the NetApp HCI platform, each volume is configured with minimum, maximum, and burst IOPS values that are strictly enforced within the system. The minimum IOPS provides a guarantee for performance, independent of what other applications on the system are doing. The maximum and burst values control the allocation of performance and deliver consistent performance to workloads. For the enterprise and service provider, SolidFire QoS enables SLAs around exact performance metrics and complete control over the customer’s experience. For infrastructure consumers, hard QoS delivers clear expectations around storage performance and the ability to deploy all tier 1 and tier 2 applications into their private cloud with confidence. These features are combined with VMware policy features to deliver end-to-end service levels.
