Datrium Elastic Replication works fully distributed by leveraging processing, networking and local flash resources of all the Datrium DVX Compute Nodes across the cluster. All source hosts send data concurrently from local flash, increasing the overall replication bandwidth.
In the event of a source host failure, other hosts in the Datrium DVX cluster will pick up the job of running existing workloads and replicating the associated data, using the durable copy on the Datrium DVX Data Node cluster.
Datrium Elastic Replication works with dynamic policies, which means that if new VMs match a pre-defined property, replication policies are automatically inherited. Once policies are set for a group of applications, there is no need to configure policies for new, individual VMs.
