Self-service single-file restore is available for VMware ESXi and AHV (Acroplis Hypervisor based on KVM) environments. It is limited to NTFS basic disks in Windows VMs and requires the installation of the Nutanix Guest Tools (NGT) inside the protected VMs. The Self-Service Restore functionality has been enhanced with an in-guest user interface that allows application administrators to manage their own snapshots and perform single file restores. Prism can be used to manage and configure NGT.
