Both Nutanix reduction techniques (deduplication and compression) can be applied on individual storage containers.
A storage container is a logical part of the Storage Pool and contains a group of VM or files (vDisks). Storage containers typically have a 1-to-1 mapping with an NFS datastore (vSphere) or SMB share (Hyper-V).
