StarWind HCA delivers out-of-box (OOB) file services by leveraging Windows native SMB/NFS and Scale-out File Services capabilities. StarWind HCA is capable of simultaneously handling highly-available block and file level services.

StarWind virtual devices formatted as NTFS volumes are provisioned to the Microsoft file services layer. This means any file services configuration is performed from within the respective Windows service consoles e.g. quotas.
