Details
StarWind HCA iSCSI is fully qualified for all VMware vSphere VAAI-Block capabilities that include: Thin Provisioning, HW Assisted Locking, Full Copy, Block Zero.
StarWind HCA is also fully qualified for Microsoft Hyper-V 2016 and 2019 ODX, as well as TRIM (for SATA SSDs) and UNMAP (for SAS SSDs).
Note: ODX is not used for files smaller than 256KB.
VAAI = VMware vSphere APIs for Array Integration
ODX = Offloaded Data Transfers
UNMAP/TRIM support allows the Windows operating system to communicate the inactive block IDs to the storage system. The storage system can wipe these unused blocks internally.
StarWind HCA is also fully qualified for Microsoft Hyper-V 2016 and 2019 ODX, as well as TRIM (for SATA SSDs) and UNMAP (for SAS SSDs).
