Most VMware OEM partners (eg. Fujitsu, HPE, Dell) offer full support for both server hardware and VMware vSphere software including vSAN. Because VMware vSphere is delivered through OEM, customers are required to buy both software and hardware from the server hardware vendor.

Because VMware vSAN is a software-only offering (SDS), end users still have the choice to acquire server hardware support and software support separately.
