Summary
Yes (CSV); enhanced compatibility and resilience - NEW
Details
(No major update in W2016) Cluster Shared Volumes (CSVs) provide a general-purpose, clustered file system in Windows Server 2012 / R2, which is layered above NTFS - allowing multiple hosts access to the same data. They are not restricted to specific clustered workloads (in Windows Server 2008 R2, CSVs only supported the Hyper-V workload).

New CSV related features with WS 2012 R2 are:
- CSV ownership is now balanced across the cluster nodes, to avoid one node owning a disproportionate number of CSVs
- Increased resiliency - multiple Server service instances per failover cluster node (a default instance that handles incoming traffic from SMB clients that access regular file shares, and a second CSV instance that handles only inter-node CSV traffic)
- CSV Cache allocation: In Windows Server 2012 you could allocate only 20% of the total physical RAM to the CSV cache - you can now allocate up to 80%.
- New support for: Resilient File System (ReFS), Deduplication (e.g. for VDI), Parity storage spaces, Tiered storage spaces and Storage Spaces write-back caching

Server 2012 introduced CSV version 2 that features significantly better integration with Hyper-V and had the following enhancements:
- CSV is now a core Failover Clustering feature (no longer a separate component that needs to be enabled)
- Has been enhanced in scalability and performance to support 64 nodes
- Single Name Space (files have the same name and path when viewed from any node in the cluster)
- Extends its benefits beyond Hyper-V to support other application workloads - application storage can be served from the same share as data
- Supports Storage spaces, SMB Direct and SMB Multipathing, and create more efficient storage with thin provisioning
- Enabling CSV on a disk is now a single right click with the mouse
- CSV disks are now included in the Failover Cluster Manager Storage view easing management.
- CSV supports BitLocker encryption
- Support for the full feature set of VSS and support for both Hardware and Software Backup of CSV volumes.

Note: You cannot use a disk for a CSV that is formatted with FAT, FAT32
